Mind Own Business

Found a guide of sorts the other day. It declared that the ambition I would like to make is made best when minding my own business.

Honestly, at first glance, I thought that is simple enough. But, a week later I sat down to inventory my own business and realized that I had spent a good deal of time that week minding way too many other businesses under the sun.

The good news is now I know that there is a lot of room for improvement in this area. A lot of room! I almost feel like my entire professional training and specialization has been geared towards opposite world in this area.

Maybe this is what is meant by it takes a long time to turn the Titanic?

United States of Chile

As a de facto ambassador of Chile to the United States, Alex Matas has set in motion a creative commercial and broadcasting venture that bridges the two countries unlike any previously. Based in NYC, Alex is connecting Chilean companies with U.S. counterparts and vice versa. Then he creates video episodes of these endeavors which will reach millions of people in Chile on the national program Muy Buenos Dias.

Congratulations Alex! The sky is the limit on your exploratory venture.

Explorers

Explorers have a different perspective. They have a different willingness to try something new. They have a willingness to go a different route.

Explorers iterate their way forward. They get that they don’t reach their desired destination without taking the steps from here to there.

Explorers push the bar, push the fence line, push the territory, and press the status quo.

Over the coming weeks and months, we are going to share the stories of how recreators go about their exploring. Hang tight, more is on the way!

Sherpas

Sherpa

There is wisdom in going up the mountain with someone who has already made the climb and has an experienced compass. Whenever we come to that life pass where a change in direction is necessary, it would seem the best course of action would be to invite the help of a sherpa.

Can you imagine being an astronaut on your first space mission and being called upon to spacewalk outside the shuttle? Can you imagine if you hadn’t received any training in the simulator? What would you do?

Why is it that when life throws a man a curve that is comparable to spacewalking many men choose to walk out into the foreign unknown without seeking for someone who has been there and done that?

If we could offer any advice from our past mistakes, find a sherpa. Whenever you come to that life pass where a change in direction is imperative, find a sherpa.

And then? Head out! Let’s climb!

Sail

Boat

Setting sail for the Riviera and looking forward to the time on the beach and the opportunity to reflect on the rocks and the coves that helped shape the voyage. It used to be that we got a little agitated when we went and scoped the crash sites. Now, we smile and find a sense of depth from knowing we’d never be here in the cove had we not landed there as well. Grab a rope, feel the breeze, RoadtripN the high seas is ready to push out into the blue.
