VSL = Venturing Systems Laboratory

Control Panel

Welcome to the mission control center of VSL Seaworthy.

VSL equates to Venturing Systems Laboratory. It is from here that we venture entrepreneurships with some of the finest partners from around the globe. It is from here that we balance venturing with systems. Systems like our Flymach co-piloting, our RoadtripN exhibits, and our Co.Mission architectures. It is from here that we dream up and find introduction to new experiments ready made for testing in our laboratory.

Sharing our 20+ years of experience, we’re a rolling, traveling, venturing systems laboratory built for high-speed entrepreneurship.

Say hello and let’s begin to dream, design, develop, and deliver together.

Being Seaworthy launches further!

Neighborhood

experimental-signage

Today, we’re launching out new ways to give our neighborhoods the hyper-local mobile signage they desperately need. The truth of the matter is that our local entrepreneurs are getting lost in the noise and swamped in the spam. These right-around-the-corner small business owners would love to reach out to you in an authentic and open manner, but the thing is they just can’t be heard anymore. The ruckus currently is deafening and desensitizing. Even if your business is trusted and well respected in our local circles, we simply do not have the time nor energy nor willingness to read your facebook posts or direct messages or really any other form of communication. We’re already inundated with the most inane buzzfeed videos and twitter follower salesmen and push notifications saying that our apps really haven’t seen us as often as they would like. Sorry, we love you and will most definitely miss you in the neighborhood when you’re gone, but we’re really busy tracking our Amazon order to see if it’s still on-time.

Local Connection

After 15 years of full service and express car washing, it just felt like it was time for a break. Times were changing and the writing was on the wall. Local business, it seemed, was going roadtripN for a while as everyone pulled stakes and dove headfirst into their mobile phones. Time to pull up a hammock and sway in the breeze for a while. Time to get away from it all and let the dust settle a little.

That lasted all of about three weeks. It wasn’t necessarily the car washing that we missed. We missed the sense of community and belonging. We missed the creating something different and unique and local with flavor and creativity that stood out from the pack. But, just what to create?

So, we traveled and we traveled. We went to a variety of trade shows. We read up on the newest trends and listened to the myriad of views as to what the future holds in store. We dabbled a little here and there. We painted, wrote, swam, and nearly drowned.

Then, we had the eureka moment. Back to the canvas, time to throw all in to go against the grain. Put everything into bringing local connection back. Put everything in because the world is gonna miss the little guys, the mom and pops, the zany ideas they have if we don’t come together with a way to embrace our local ecosystems again.

We’re back! We’re not done roadtripN. It is part of the package. But from here on out to wherever this road is taking us, we’re going to give everything we can muster to highlight the small business next door. Honestly, we don’t know if the small biz is going to win. We just can’t stomach what seems will happen if he and she can’t find a place to at least make a healthy go at it.

We love local connection! It’s the why we now see for washing cars for all those years. We’re back in the local mobile game starting from the hub we know so well. Tap us on the shoulder, we’re ready to push alongside.

Vegas in theSpace

Edge-of-Desert

That’s right. Even though we have plenty, this is not another shot of The Strip. This is Vegas in theSpace.

Creative start-up magic often happens in the middle of the desert. As the saying goes: “When you can no longer scratch two nickels together for the slots, then it’s time to invent.”

Fast and furious, venturing in Las Vegas is taking off like bottle rockets (and golf balls).

NM True

New Mexico TRUE

Our entrepreneurship is gathering steam as we make our way out west. Helping small business owners spread the word about their artistry is just one of the things we do. We also ski a little, gather at concerts, and make an investment here and there.

In so many forms, it requires capital to find the way to Outerblue. If you’re in need of a little inspiration, or a lot of help in the area of perspiration, drop us a line. We’re out and about theSpace in New Mexico. Come along for the roadtripN.

theSpace Moving West

West

The first two sites are launched and two more appear to be on the near horizon. theSpace is now open in Dallas and Denver with Albuquerque and Las Vegas upcoming.

What exactly is theSpace you may be asking? theSpace is an exploratory community of primarily men that have experience with a total change of direction in their lives and/or careers. theSpace is part support, part encouragement, part incubator, and part map room offering experience and insights while walking alongside men through these transitions.

If you are struggling to find the way right now in your career, business, family, health, or life – we invite you to check out theSpace.

The TREE Exchange Post from Co.Mission

It's a small world

Are you still tracking along with us on this trail? Have you recognized yourself in some of our characters that we’ve revealed to you? Have you made it across the first desert aptly named The American Dreamed? Are you recognizing the crossroads that we’ve been found?

In our RE-mission, we’ve found ourselves at the edge of the sea. The past is chasing after us and we can hear its crushing footsteps. Where can we run now? We need the waters to part.

Apparently, our minds tell us, there is only one option. Turn around and return ourselves to our slave masters. It is sheer craziness to believe the sea is going to move. And if we made it across, look at the mountain on the other side. Like us, you’ve probably heard the reports of big giants in the land. This dilemma defies our human logic. It just doesn’t seem to fit it in our brain.

Right here at the edge of the sea, we’re looking back at the scraggly money trees with just a couple of paper leaf bills still hanging. Perhaps, we should just set camp here. Take down this low hanging fruit and burn it for warmth. Take down this low hanging paper fruit and spread the leaf ashes under another oak that appears soon to fall. Maybe, just maybe, if we invest some ash, it will turn a leaf into a leaf plus LIBOR? We can live on LIBOR, right?

What’s the future hold if we just charge into the water? What’s the other alternative to possibly drowning? Starvation? Neither looks to be very personally fulfilling or fun.

But, maybe this view of the outcome to be is part of our problem. It doesn’t seem very wise to doubt our view of the outcome to be if we choose to turn back. We’ve already seen what’s in store behind. We’ve already experienced what the past holds. But, as for charging into the sea, we’ve never really tried it. So, why are we so convinced it just won’t work? What if it does?

It is just hard to imagine that our spongy self-absorption of the water won’t drown us. Makes more sense it seems to self-absorb a fallacious leaf pile.

Out of the corner of our eye, we see a couple of people running into the water carrying what appears to be a tree on their back. That’s what we figured would happen. They’ve disappeared under the water. Guess we’ll turn back now. The sea surely sank them.

Wait a second, who’s that waving to us on the other side of the sea? Could it be those people we saw running into the water? Did they really accomplish the TREE exchange? Did they survive what appeared a certain death of self-sacrifice?

Are you ready to dip a toe into The Outerblue Projects? Please join us in exchanging “A Tree for A Tree”.
