Making an Ambition

Ready to take the entrepreneurship back out into the open waters. This voyage though appears to be an entirely new adventure.

For all of these days before, I have always lived with the impression that ambition was something you either had or you didn’t. I personally have met many ambitious people. I have also met many who didn’t seem all that ambitious.

What I’m saying is….it never occurred to me that we have the ability to make an ambition. That’s correct…I read guidance a few days ago that stated emphatically to “make it your ambition”.

So, in part out of curiosity, in part out of a desire to try something new, and in part because it kind of makes sense why things continue to work out the way they do, the entrepreneurship is pulling off the beach and back out into the waters. Going to go make an ambition!

Lead a Quiet Life

Every word in this recreation of ambition presents a challenge to my old mode of operations and the environment that I reside.

There is not all that much that is quiet today. Noise abounds in the background, noise abounds from the screens, and noise abounds in my head. Quiet is pretty foreign in the moment.

Then there is “lead”. I thought to “lead” was an action that put a man on point in front of other men. Today, it seems that everyone is being developed to be a leader. A leader in their field. A leader in their organization. A leader in their battalion. But, “lead” to a quiet life? Hmmm…doesn’t seem like that will lead to many followers.

Then there is “life”. What a frame. Life is such a word that challenges time definitions. Does one mean the life they are living today in this very moment? Does one mean the life that they may live for the next few decades? Does one mean the story of their life lived that may even go beyond the days of life experienced in this reality?

Lead a Quiet Life? Lead who? How? For how long?

Mind Own Business

Found a guide of sorts the other day. It declared that the ambition I would like to make is made best when minding my own business.

Honestly, at first glance, I thought that is simple enough. But, a week later I sat down to inventory my own business and realized that I had spent a good deal of time that week minding way too many other businesses under the sun.

The good news is now I know that there is a lot of room for improvement in this area. A lot of room! I almost feel like my entire professional training and specialization has been geared towards opposite world in this area.

Maybe this is what is meant by it takes a long time to turn the Titanic?

Handiwork

Back out in the shop again today. Things are quiet. Putting a few finishing touches on a large project that has been years in the making.

Work is really good lately. Finding a whole lot more time to create after eliminating all of the non-creative steps in the process. It is a wonder that it took this long to figure this out. But, right now things are steady enough that taking the time to wonder about figuring is a low priority.

The next project on deck is just doing it and seeing if this clears up the stuff that used to derail so much time into wondering and figuring.

Wind Down

Sharing what we’ve found is the exercise of Wind Down. We will share it if you ask, but we aren’t promoting it. We aren’t promoting it, because this deters from the very exercise.

If you are curiously asking yourself, well isn’t this brief message a promotion of sorts? It’s a fair question, but the answer is no.

The sole reason for this post is to share the key code. Ask, Seek, or Knock, we’re glad to share. But, as for promoting, there isn’t really a need. The scene and circumstances are far better at promoting than we could ever be.

Found Life

A friend first pointed out the obvious. He said, “Every now and then, it really makes sense to find what you’re seeking in that which is all around you.”

A few months later, as I stood outside peering into yet another big picture, it finally took hold. The search is over. Found life. Things haven’t been the same since.

And yet, what about those of us who still aren’t seeing it? Whether they are inside the big picture or standing outside on the fringes, it seems too many are still out and about in some sort of “talking about knowing the way to find life” search parties.

The ironic thing though is the way to find life is to live the life that life is giving us. Found life. Ever since, the talking about knowing has waned to barely a peep.

Beyond the Borders

Are you stretching to figure us out? Are you frustrated that the context seems lacking?

Hang in there with us for a few spins around the merry-go-round. The stretching beyond figuring and pressing beyond context is where one often finds their outside-the-box breakthrough.

We will sketch in some more details as we go forward. But right in this moment, the invite beyond the borders is all we can really offer before showing you what we mean.

Beyond the Borders is baked into the design of finding outside-the-box impacts.

Designers

Designers get their hands dirty. They get into the work. They dive into the code. They jump into the deep end and then start figuring out how to paddle.

Designers are the ones that don’t just theorize their solution, they live it. They get that if their theories aren’t able to be realized, then what’s the point?

Designers are the ones that stand on newly finished designs.

New designs are under way. Stay tuned for features from the designers making it happen.
